New Dell PC as music server need setup help please!

I would first like to thank any and everyone who post here with suggestions about what might be the simplest way to set this all up.

Ultimately, I just want to listen to music, nothing too fancy or too difficult either, please.

Here is a list of the gear I have:

2 Squeezebox Touch units

1 Dell Inspirion 660S Desktop PC, Dual Core, OS Win 7 64bit, 8GB RAM, 500GB 7200rpm SATA HD (for OS, LMS, etc.) 2TB EXT USB 3.0 for music library (will be picking up the pc within 10 days or less)

SBT's in different locations inside of house, using Digital output to standalone DAC's for 192/24 FLAC. also for iTunes, WMALL & MP3.

will give the SBT's & the pc sequential, static ip's. I have a hardwired GB network throughout the house with CAT6 cabling and GB Switches on each floor for distribution. the SBT's will be connected via CAT6 to network and the PC will be as well.

I want to be able to stream music from the computer attached 2TB USB 3.0 drive to either Touch. The PC will only be used for the SBT units. I have LMS 7.7.2 (never used LMS of any version before). Will control them from iOS devices either my iPhone or iPad. The PC will stay on all the time, though, i'm considering using the WOL so for long periods of inactivity, it's not running full blast but can wake up if the SBT connects to it via LAN. it will be in the basement (coolest room in the house).

What is the simplest way to set this up to get the least amount of headaches?

To give you guys some background about me, I do have a 3rd SBT....IT'S IN MY CAR! Yep, I have a touch in the trunk of my car and it's setup like this:
Touch connected to Emotiva XDA-1 DAC via Digital Coax for 192/24 output. Dac connected to car receiver input via RCA outputs to car receiver analog input. 1TB USB 2.0 HD connected to a powered USB 2.0 HUB which is then connected to the SBT USB input. the SBT is connected via ethernet to a wireless router which has a secured network setup for the car. the touch in the trunk is controlled by either my iPhone or iPad from inside the car cabin. Everything in the system is powered by a 150w inverter plugged into a 12v power outlet in the trunk. I know it's a lot of work and sounds crazy, but, I have a lot of Hi-Rez FLAC audio from HD-TRACKS and i love listening to it in the house, so why not listen to it in the car!?! so I do have some experience setting up a SBT in a system. It works great too. I tested the car system on a trip from Alexandria, VA to Franklin, TN to go to Emofest (an annual Emotiva event) and it played without issue and it sounds amazing. I've got everything from 44.1 up to 192 files on that drive and they all played no crashes, no hiccups, no nothing!

ok, enough about the SBT in the trunk of my car, lets get back on track of the thread topic.

What i don't have is any experience setting it up and using it with a dedicated pc using the LMS.

Just to get familiar with it, I did a temporary setup of the software on my current PC to see what it looked like. really bizzare looking. i kept seeing references to iTunes in the software and not sure why either. there is not a ton of information on how to set this software up or really, what to do with the LMS software. to reference the Car system, i simply connected a USB drive to the system, the SBT installed the "tiny" version of server software and scanned the drive and i was playing music, done. it's not that simple with LMS from what i could see.

If there is a thread that already exist that does a step by step simple/basic setup of the LMS, someone please post a link. i looked at various things in here for almost 40 minutes and didn't find anything that was simple or basic and perhaps it means it's really hard to set this up. i removed the temporary installation of LMS from this computer as i mentioned, i just wanted to see what it looked like. i was hoping for an icon driven GUI like the SBT gives but that was not the case.

I believe this is plenty of pc for my needs (probably more) I just need help with the LMS software setup as well as how to get the SBT's to see the PC and connect to it.

Oh yeah, boo-hoo on Logitech for abandoning what was, in my opinion, their greates product for the Audiophile and everyone in between!

Also, please don't get confused. I don't need help with the setup I mentioned I have in my car; it's working fine! I need help with the new setup I want to do in the house!

Again, thank you in advance to any and everyone who helps me get this setup going.
