7.9 on Raspberry Pi 2

I've just installed LMS 7.9.0 on a Raspberry Pi, using the Max2Play package. The scan of music files was successful. but when I select a song to play it immediately stops. Music is in ALAC. Similarly (?), although BBC live play works fine, replay doesn't work, in either BBC iPlayer (v1.3.1alpha3) or BBC iPlay Extras (v1.7). Same phenomena in all players (Classic, Squeezepad). Any suggestions?
