Please Help - Constantly getting permission denied when opening remote music source

Hello all,

I have two squeezebox servers running, on with a large hard drive hosting my music files, another on a small system that just acts as a player. They are both windows 7 64bit.

I am pointing the smaller LMS to the following folder on the larger system's drive:

192.168.x.x\My Music

This folder is shared, has fully open permissions (Anonymous and Everyone have Full Control).

These systems are not on a domain.

On a fresh install of ANY VERSION of LMS, this works fine. The music source is scanned and files will play. But if I do ANYTHING to Windows - updates, add or remove programs, seemingly anything except a reboot, the LMS stop being able to play the files. The only way I've found to fix this is a complete removal and re-install of LMS.

The Server log starts filling with errors every time I try to play a song. I stupidly just removed the LMS and din't save the log.... But the gist of t is that is says "attempting to open XXXX on XXX: Permission Denied"

I will post a full copy of the error soon, i;m sure it will happen again...

where can I start with troubleshooting this? Is there some known issue when connecting to remote Windows fileshares as the Music Library? I have searched extensively and can't find anything that is relevant to this issue...

Thanks
