Running mixed revisions of lms server in one household? Okay?

Hello,

I have two squeezebox radios.

I run then in sync left and right in the living room and since they have batteries sometimes in other rooms.

I am running lms 7.7.2 on a synology ds412+.

I am thinking if trying lms 7.8 on an old imac.

If I do this will the firmware in the radios need to be upgraded?

If so, will they then work with the old lms?

Do I need to upgrade the firmware in the radios? Are there new functionality or bug fixes in newer firmware versions for the radios?
