Issues with COVER ART... all of a sudden

I've been a Slim user for 6+ years and have never had an issue like this. All of a sudden, adding new cover art gives me an error that "re-sizing failed". I was using the latest 7.8 version and stepped back to the official 7.7.2, but it still won't work.

Running on a Mac MINI OS 10.5.8. Anyone else had issues like this? Repairing permissions, etc., now to see if anything changes.
