I have a question regarding the LMS -> Setting -> Performance settings
I recently changed the settings for "Database Memory Config to High; Server Priority to -16 High and Scanner Priority to -16 High and have noticed a few things. LMS seems to be a little quicker in responding to commands and the amount of memory being used by "squeezesrv.exe" is just about double that which was being used prior to changing the settings.
There appears to be no significant change in the times of the nightly rescans, which have been averaging around 45 minutes and 45 minutes is pretty good considering the size and complicity of my music library. Complex in that it spans across 3 external hard drives.
So my question is: Are the increased memory usage and the snappier LMS response normal for the high(er) priority settings?
Edit:
Oops I forgot give some information on my system:
Dedicated server, i.e. no other programs other than LMS, Norton 360 (anti-virus and firewall) and the usual Windows 7 system tasks running
6 GB memory with Windows Task Manager showing 50% physical memory used with LMS running in high priority mode.
