SBS Failure - does not talk to SB devices and shuts down almost immediately upon use.

After running SBS 7.72 with general success, it has now seriously failed. I have been with SBS for years and have been through much of the troubleshooting, but this one has me baffled (and frustrated). I need some help.

Here are the issues:

• Every command seems to disconnect it from the Server. This includes, the simplest command of advancing to the next song. To get the Server going again, rebooting the computer works best. When I do reboot, the Server seems only to be able to work for a very short time, like until a try to connect a new SB devise or try to select a file for play.
• I have four devices – SBS only automatically picks up on the Touch. The others (Boom and two SB3s) have to be repower up. When I do repower them up they have a hard time connecting to the server (Wifi or Ethernet) and often result in SBS server failure.
• When working – (for like a limited amount of time) it is very sluggish. Pause / play takes 15-20 secs to react, if it doesn’t cause a server failure.
• Intermittent failure to open port 9000. Sometimes the diagnostics indicate that there “may be a conflict” while other times, the server has just failed. Sometimes it does connect to port 9000.

Ideas and new information:
• Recently installed JRiver to act as an DLNA link to WD Live (connect to my TV) to stream video. That is working fine. Not sure if SBS was having problems before or just after JRiver. Not sure if having JRiver open while “trying” to use SBS is helpful or harmful. I have discovered no consistency or reason why SBS is so ill now.
• I also have Monkey Media that was used as a DLNA server, but that is inactive now. In most cases MM and JRiver are not on when using SBS. (Perhaps they should be?)

I am really not sure where to begin since the problem is so core to the functionality of SBS. I am working off of SBS 7.72, Windows 7 and linking to iTunes (latest).
