Radios stopped connecting to LMS - Help

$
0
0
Just moved to a new house. Set up everything - no changes to the network - and none of my 3 radios will connect to LMS. They all play favorites from Mysqueezebox.com just fine, but no luck connecting to LMS and accessing favorites or local music.

I'm at a loss as to what to try, short of a clean install of LMS, which I'd really like to avoid. I'm running the latest version of LMS on the latest version of Mac OSX.

Any and all suggestions appreciated. Thanks.

Delay start of LMS

How do I delay the startup of LMS on a Debian server to ensure that the MusicIP server starts first? My other server was max2play and had an option to delay LMS startup but I have no idea how this was achieved.

When I scan my library I have been repeatedly running into this error recently. There are some tracks in my library that are not showing up in the iPeng app that I use to control the system but I have confirmed that they are present in my library.
I am running LMS on Windows Server 2012 R2. Any help or advice would be appreciated.

These are the details of my LMS:

No, the mixable flag is only set in the MIP importer, nowhere else.

That menu is pulled from TuneIn's API. You might want to get in touch
with them.

Latest stable version and where to download?

Dear community, I use Squeezebox since a long time now. Now issue! Just great!
But it changed some days ago. I do not know what happend - but suddenly The music paths are not known anymore, Music styles and random music play replicated itself with many more unwanted options, new menues appear (most make no sense for me)...

What happend?
What is the latest (really) stable release and where should I download it?

Thanks a lot...

LMS default local radiostation list does not show SRF 3 again

Hi Chris,

Don't know what happened that SRF3 disappeared. I can't even find it any
more using search. You should report this to TuneIn.com. They're
providing the radio station list.

But you can grab one of the streams from the document you listed, enter
it in the LMS "URL laden" field. Once playing, save it as a favorite or
preset. In ever use the Radios menus for the stations I'm listening to
regularly.

FWIW: I currently have this on my kitchen radio's preset 1.

macOS update - Players Fail to Connect to LMS

Recently updated to macOS 10.13.4. Now cannot connect any of my Squeezebox players (BOOM and RADIO).

Tried clean re-install of 7.9.1. Players connect to my squeezebox.com but not to LMS.

LMS appears to be running correctly. Accepts mysqueezebox.com password and says connected but Server log shows:-

[18-04-05 21:02:50.3031] Slim::Networking::SqueezeNetwork::_error (596) Unable to login to SN: Timed out waiting for data

[18-04-05 21:02:58.6878] Slim::Networking::SqueezeNetwork::_error (596) Unable to login to SN: Timed out waiting for data

I have searched solutions on forum but can't find a fix.

Can anyone help?

Playlists not loading, Spotify family

$

I'm running LMS v 7.9.1 - 1522249619 on a Debian box (Open Media Vault) and use Triodes spotify family plugin so all four family members can play from Spotify with seperate accounts. I've got one major issue; playlist takes forever (at least a minute) to load when navigating the menu, meaning it's virtually unusable. I've tried removing (apt-get purge logitechmediaserver) and reinstall, however that made no difference. Spotify and the plugin works great apart from the playlist issue.

(I might add, after removing and reinstalling LMS the configuration was still there. Shouldn't purge also remove all configuration files?)

Yours sincerely

This sounds as if you were running low on memory: Linux would move LMS
out of RAM into the swapping space (on your disk) when it's not being
used. Once you want to interact with it, it has to read it from disk,
which is much slower than memory. Just an idea. Check your memory usage
using "free". What hardware? How much RAM?

Message on LMS - "A new version of Logitech Media Server is available. (Click here)"

$

I just got the message "A new version of Logitech Media Server is available. (Click here)" on my LMS web interface. (See attached screenshot.)

Clicking through on that provides the following info:

An updated version of Logitech Media Server is available and ready to install.
A new version of Logitech Media Server is available.
Latest Changes (all changes)
2018-04-10
• The collapse filter is causing lots of warnings with wide characters on eg. piCorePlayer. And we don't need it: it's only formatting the resulting HTML source code which we don't get to see anyway.
• Improve architecture detection on macOS. Under certain circumstances we'd not get it from system_profiler.
2018-03-28
• Use the all_apps data if no player specific app data is available.
2018-03-27
• Silence undef warnings in some older skins. 'start' is not always defined.
• Silence a scanner warning on macOS
more
"

Clicking on "more" takes me to https://github.com/Logitech/slimserv...its/public/7.9

But, once there, I cannot see what to do -- I have no idea what it is I am supposed to download, nor how do so.

I'm currently running Logitech Media Server Version: 7.9.1 - 1522249619 on top of FreeNAS / SlimNAS.

Any help greatly appreciated!

Playlist Artwork - where does LMS find it ?

If there's no artwork stored with the individual track, then the album's
artwork is picked. And for the album LMS picks a random artwork from one
of its tracks. Which means that if you have the "No Album" album with
tracks from many different real albums, then you'd get some semi-random
artwork.

Garbage in, garbage out.

Fix your tags. Make sure all tracks have correct album information.

players lost connection

$

Hello,

I've been running LogitechMediaServer-7.9.0-1474277583 for about 2 years with no issue
since sometime this afternoon, without any apparent trigger, the players lost connection and the webinterface is unreachable.

After rebooting of the server (either hardware, software or just killing the SqueezeSvr.exe), the following happens:
- start server (through tray Control panel or a prompt)
- players will briefly show connection ('Now playing' showing on SB2s)
- then connection to players appears to get lost
- web interface not responding
- the Control panel still shows the server as running
- the diagnostics tab shows all protocols as active

Starting without plugins doesn't help.

I then installed the latest version. Same as above, except the prompt/log shows an error (that doesn' appear for 7.9.0):
Code:

[18-04-12 20:46:36.5625] main::init (387) Starting Logitech Media Server (v7.9.1
, 1523349116, Tue Apr 10 10:38:08 WEDT 2018) perl 5.014001 - MSWin32-x86-multi-t
hread

Utils::LogCan't get process handle (Er is geprobeerd een bewerking uit te voeren
op iets anders dan een socket) [Wrong number of parameters: expected 0, got 1.
]

Re-installing 7.9.0 doesn't help either.

Running a copy of 7.5.4 that I had saved in another directory does seem to work. I can navigate the web interface fine. But the players request a firmware update, and I am a bit reluctant to try further.
And anyway, I would really like to get 7.9 back again.

Any suggestions?

The web UI likely would have been changed by some "visitor", too. As for
the library: good questions django asked.

Squeezes lose connection to picoreplayer for 1-2 seconds

I searched this forum for similar topic, but found none... maybe I used wrong keywords?

Have been running picoreplayer for many months. Very happy with it.

Last month I noticed the clock on SQBX booms would flip to"can't connect" message and then back to clock. When playing more than one SQBX device synced I also get dropoffs now.

Nothing changed in installation or devices. Running picoreplayer on pi3 and Ethernet. SQBX devices all WiFi. Am in apartment.

Are there logs I can examine to see connection errors? If so, for SQBX devices, where located? For picoreplayer, where located?

Thanks much!

Dear all,

i just tried to install LMS on Fedora 27 with the following process. My issue is that LMS seems to does not start and i'm not able to identify the reasons. You would find below the status of the service.

Code:

su -c 'yum localinstall --nogpgcheck http://download1.rpmfusion.org/free/fedora/rpmfusion-free-release-$(rpm -E %fedora).noarch.rpm http://download1.rpmfusion.org/nonfree/fedora/rpmfusion-nonfree-release-$(rpm -E %fedora).noarch.rpm'
yum repolist | grep rpmfusion
sudo yum install http://www.squeezecommunity.org/repo/fedora/27/x86_64/squeezecommunity-repo-1-11.fc27.noarch.rpm
sudo yum update
yum repolist
yum info logitechmediaserver
sudo yum install logitechmediaserver

Search function returns incorrect count in LMS 7.9 and 7.9.1

> I'm not sure what you mean by library view, but it's about all tagged

7.9 introduced a feature I often refer to as library views: you can
define to only work on a sub-set of your total collection. Eg. exclude
your kids' music. If you're not familiar with it, then you likely don't
use it ;-).

> interesting is also that after input of a meaningful term sometimes / at

Same here. At first it looked good, then later on there was some kind of
constant value returned. Server side caching might very well be the
reason. I'll look into this.

> only current solution is to use "search" command, not filter based
> search?

Yes, I'd use that for now. It's optimized for search speed, as it's
being used for the web UI's "live search".

Shut down LMS, open the server.prefs in a text editor (NOT Wordpad or
the like!). Then remove the lines for filterHosts, allowedHosts,
authorize, username. Start LMS and set everything as you like.

And don't open your LMS to the internet. It likely will render your
settings obsolete.
