What was the latest you installed before? Could you try any of the older

SoundOpinions Podcast does not stream for me anymore - can't connect...

Hi all;
we like the podcast Sound Opinions (https://soundopinions.org/podcast/feed), but since a while it does not play anymore.
(Also, it takes a long time to populate the list of available podcast items within Soundopinions. Its a long list though, so that might be ok)
Other Podasts play fine.

Also, when I select the relevant stream information from the log and plug it into my internet-browser, it plays fine: I.e.:
https://podcast-stream.wbez.org/soun...soundtrack.mp3
The address in the browser changes to:
https://podcast-stream.wbez.org/soun...x__0000000eAgT
once executed.
That looks different than what I see in the log file:
https://podcast-stream.wbez.org/soun...__0000000pzJc]

Especially the last character "]" makes me think something is wrong here....

Can anyone give me some clues on how to fix that podcast?

Daylight Saving Time rescan issue - again!!

Well it's that time of year again when we move the clocks ahead one hour for daylight saving time and performing a "look for new and media files" rescan on LMS usually leads to scanner.exe believing that all of the files in the media library have been changed (due to the one hour difference).

My usual method of dealing with this issue has been to just clear the library and do a full rescan (using the control panel).

I have raised this issue several times in the past only to be told "LMS should not behave in this manner". This is not an acceptable response since whether or not LMS should behave in this fashion, the fact remains that LMS HAS INDEED behaved as I have stated above and continues to behave in this manner.

Please tell me what information you might need about my LMS setup and I will forward you that information.

And more importantly please fix this long standing issue.

Some FLAC albums won't play on LMS

Out of my over 10k albums indexed on LMS, there are a few that won't play on LMS. When I try to play them, it would display an error message saying "Can't open file for...". The files themselves seem pretty normal. They're 16/44 files, with metadata displayed perfectly on LMS, and play fine directly on my computer on my phone, but won't play via LMS to Squeezelite or to the computer or phone via LMS DLNA plugin. I tried rescanning the whole library and it does not seem to be an indexing issue. I normally set LMS to transcode flac to wav (for a slight SQ benefit), but when I set it to play flac natively, the files would play. I can't see why these particular files can't be transcoded.

Any idea what could be causing that?

I think you should fix this on the server side: tell Windows to allow
LMS to do this. You shouldn't need (and should not do!) run LMS as admin.

Bug: LMS website issue with selecting artist from left panel - remote streaming only

There seems to be a bug that hasn't been fixed for a while that I thought I'd finally bring attention to. It's minor but still a bug none the less. It seems to only be when navigating using the webgui for a remote stream via "http://localhost:9000/stream.mp3"

On the left panel of the webgui if you select an album from somewhere to bring up the album(without playing it yet) - if you click on the Artist or Year from the album page(or song page even) the links break and on the left shows this error:


If you click on Artist from the album page:
404 Not Found: clixmlbrowser/clicmd=browselibrary+items&artist_id=172076&mode=a lbums&library_id=&linktitle=Artist (From Autumn to Ashes)/&player=x.x.x.x

If you click on Year from the album page:
404 Not Found: clixmlbrowser/clicmd=browselibrary+items&mode=albums&year=2001&l inktitle=Year (2001)/&player=x.x.x.x


When I select a regular Squeezebox client the same behavior is not there and the links work fine.

Suggestions for LMS setup

Hello to all,

I would like to start using LMS and some RPi that should act as players around the house.
Actually I have a Plex server, but it is not at home.

Is there a way to have a local LMS without music that interacts with an external PLEX to get music from it?

In case it isn't possible, could I install LMS on a public server? In that case, how are the local players discovered?

Any suggestion is much appreciated!

Don't Stop The Music MusicIP mix

When I select MusicIP mix in DSTM I always get a song mix instead. The server log shows that the following command is used to get the mix

If I enter this in Firefox I get "MusicIP API error - invalid request or internal error"
But if I change "localhost" to the IP address of my server then a mix is generated and takes around 14 seconds.
If I add the filter I would like to use with MusicIP the mix takes just over 15 seconds to generate.
I suppose "localhost" doesn't work as I am using a windows laptop to connect to a Raspberry Pi. Is the issue the time taken to generate the mix? If so could the timeout be increased?

Compilations / VA no longer at top level?

I am not sure if I am going insane or this is a bug/change in 7.9.1 - just updated as prompted today - but I am sure that I used to have a top level "Compilations" menu next to Artists and Albums etc.

I have done a full rescan and a restart just in case, but it still only appears under Artists -> Compilations

(I have set the name instead of Various Artists default, but even resetting that and rescanning changes nothing)

Am I misremembering or has there been a change? Help me feel sane! Please...

New playlist | Is filtering for "Sample rate" somehow possible?

Ok..the above title definitely needs some explanation ;-)

I have three players, a SBT, a RPi2 w picoreplayer and a Riva Arena (which works like a charm via LMS thanks to @philippe_44 ´s brilliant AirPlay bridge plugin).
If I synch all three players the max sample rate i can play without any hiccups is 24/96.

Hence I would like to create a playlist including certain genres and all sample rates not higher than the aforementioned 24/96.
Is this somehow "easy" to create or is there no other way as adding album after album to the new created playlist?

Squeezebox receivers will not connect to LMS or mysqueezebox.com

I have many players - touches, radios, and receivers. All are still connected to LMS, but the receivers will not connect. I did several factory resets on the receivers and controller. The receivers will connect to WiFi successfully (blue led) but fail to connect either to LMS or mysqueezebox.com. Strangely the controller if configured as a player through beta settings will connect to LMS. As well the receiver player name will show up in mysqueezebox.com under the "player" listing if I attempt to connect it to mysqueezebox.com even though it says it fails. Wondering if a firmware upgrade to my Readynas Ultra (running unofficial radiator 6.x.x) is at fault. Going to try to remove LMS and reinstall but at this point I don't remember how to do that. LMS does not show as an installed app on the NAS admin pages... Thanks for reading any any help is appreciated.

increase artwork size under genre drilldown

It certainly does here. If I set it to 250, then I get that sized artwork.

Nope, 100x100.

You might want to give us a little more information as to what skin
you're using, what LMS, what plugins, how you get to that menu etc.

Logitech Media Server not starting on QNAP TS-119PII after update

Hi,

I tried to upgrade my Logitech Media Server on a QNAP TS-119PII (FW: 4.3.3.0404) yesterday with the latest nightly build available (logitechmediaserver-7.9.1-1521438894-arm-linux). I was previously running a slightly older nightly build (maybe 4 weeks or so). After the update using SSOTS I was not able to start the LMS again. This had not happened to me before since I am using the QNAP to run the LMS (about 6 years).

I pasted some lines from the Server log below. I cut several lines starting with "ssctrl Disabled" for a multitude of CPAN versions. I am only an "user" rather than an expert on this field so I struggle to make sense out of that... Is there any one who could help me out here?

How stable is the latest release of 7.9?

LMS didn't get less reliable, but it's crashing because you exposed it
to the internet. Now somebody decided to install the Gallery plugin and
have it scan all of your drives, giving the attacker access to all your
photos. And crashing LMS, because it's trying to scan folders it
shouldn't scan.

Close port 9000 on your router, uninstall the Gallery plugin, change the skin back
to Default and you'll be fine.

LMS "IP Solve" - problem on QNAP NAS

Hi all,

I have been using LMS Nightly Builds (Thanks alot M.Herger!) on my two QNAP TS-853 pro Nas'es for some years now.

One of them started to act with time outs this weekend .....and I got a message saying something like: LMS cannot solve IP to reach www.mysqueezebox and mherger.. Otherwise it is ok and works fine in my LAN. It also sees the sister-NAS, LMS.

I tried a clean, new install which ended up working fine except for the IP-solve issue.

I wonder if any of you skilled people, can point me out what directory(-ies)/file(s) that has been corrupt. The lucky thing for me is that the sister NAS is working fine, so I can hopefully copy the working codes from it.

edit. To access via SSH is no problem and I'm somewhat used to "behave" with caution in that evironment

I am very thankful for any idea or guidance.
